Club RangeRange CalendarBranch shooting competitions are held monthly on our range and the shoots
are designed to assist hunters in marksmanship skills. These branch shoots
are on the Sunday following the third Wednesday of each month at our Kaitoke
range. The morning shoots usually start at 9am, with afternoon shoots
starting at 1pm.
Organised club shoots are held most weekends, mainly on the Sunday.
However, to avoid getting to the range on a Saturday only to find that there is a club shoot
in progress, check the Range Calendar which is listed in the
monthly Tararua Rag.
The Kaitoke Pistol Club runs casual shoots at the range every Tuesday night from 6 pm,
during daylight saving. Visitors are welcome. Range Photos
The branch has a rifle range with covered benchrest facilities in the Rimutaka Incline recreation area. The range is built to modern standards and provides shooting up to 200m. Members are entitled to lease a key to the main car park gate, which enables driving to the range. Members may use the range during the week as well as weekends, but the range is not available for public use. However approved shooting organisations may hire out the range for their own use.
