How to update the website


  • visit http://hvnzda.org.nz/ (bookmark this link)
  • click on the login link (to the top right)
  • enter the passphrase if prompted, note it is in lower case
  • click on the link to the page you want to edit on the left hand menu
  • then click on the ''edit' link (from the top right hand menu)
  • change the text displayed in the text area as required
  • Important - put your name in the author box at the bottom of the page
  • click the Save button

Editing a page

  • simply follow the way things are already done on the page
  • it doesn't matter if you make a mistake, all changes are saved (click on the history link to view changes and restore from previous versions)
  • when editing the following quick reference is displayed at the bottom of the page

Tables: simple - advanced

Paragraphs: for a new paragraph, use a blank line;

Line break: \\ or [[<<]]

-> to indent text, -< hanging text

Join line: \

Lists: * for bulleted, # for numbered, :term:definition for definition lists

Adding a new page

  1. enter the name of the new page in the text box at the bottom of the left hand menu and click Add page.
  2. use the following markup in a page, then click on the new link.

Attaching a document or file to a page

  1. use the following markup in a page, then click on the link to upload the document or file

Updating or replacing a file or image

  1. on the page you file or image is located click on the top right Attach link. A list of files will be shown. Click on the delta (Δ) and load the new version of the file.
